When we were doing family owned Data Processing BPO business, without my full consent, my staff arranged a liquor party for the young managers and supervisors of a US Based Company, which was outsourcing work to us. (Liquor party and bribe was compulsory to get job from there). One of the young man came to me and told that "after liquor I want to go to a Prostitute. You either arrange one or give money for that". I was shocked. As a Marshal Arts trained person, my mood was to give him a flying kick at his face. I controlled myself and asked my staff take away this man. |

Once I went file an appeal with ITAT. While coming back after filing the appeal, one person stopped me and asked. "sir give me something". I said "you did not do anything for me. Why should I pay bribe? I will complaint to your boss that your are asking for bribe". He said "My boss know that I take bribe from people". It is allowed here. |
The Unexpected Bribe taker |
An Assistant Commissioner of Income tax was giving lectures about character, social welfare etc. I thought he will not ask for bribe as the case was so simple. I was shocked when he asked for a huge amount after completion of assessment. |

The Corrupt I met in my service life |
I am always against giving bribe. But in service life I met many bribe takers in the offices of income tax department, sales tax, central excise, VAT, MCD, Ministries, Politicians etc.. etc.. There are some works you cannot do without giving bribe as the approval is at the discretion of dealing officers. In short I can identify a person with his behavior. |
1. We have closed our two family owned successful business due to bribe takers and frauds
In 2000 we have registered a family owned Private Limited Company and started selling computers and providing services. Our company got contract from a US Based Data processing company. Indian staff in the MNC were creating problem by raising small and irrelevant issues. Once they recommended to suspend our work. At that time about 70 full time staff and 32 part time staff were working in our company. The reason was upto 5 mistakes were allowed in 100000 letters of typed data. But one of our files had more than 5 mistakes. I told them, if there are more mistakes in the file, we will correct it and will send it you. Indian staff told to my manager that this is not a mistake related issue. They take bribe on every month and liquor party in every 15 days from all successful vendors. If we do that we can survive, otherwise close down your business.

We got back the contract. But I was not happy to work for this company by giving bribe. I told my staff to search for another job as we did not have any other big contract. We closed down the company in 2003. This was a huge financial fall in my life.
I lost all my savings and it took many years to recover from it.
In 2012, with my close friend, we have again started a Private Limited Company to do Computer Hardware, Maintenance and software business with 11-12 staff. This time I have designed a website and got many customers. But experience was more horrible:
1. Every person who comes to purchase computer product for company or office want an inflated bill to earn money by cheating their employers.
2. To get maintenance contract from a company or government organisation we have to pay commission, for which the rates are fixed.
3. Those who come directly to purchase computers from us want pirated software at free of cost.
4. Many of the shops are selling low quality product, or items without warranty at cheap rate, which customer is not aware.
5. Some Companies are selling assembled computers by using old parts and selling it for the cost of new product. In one of such case I have filed a case with consumer court and won. But the seller never visited to attend the case, instead he changed the name of company and still doing the same business. They are employing goons and no educated customer will date to fight.
While doing business, we have seen such frauds, cheaters and bribe takers with every bad character. My friend and I decided close down the business as we cannot do business by working with such people. Again I and my friend lost substantial amount from our saving.
2. I resigned my well paid job after cleaning almost all bribe takers in the organisation.
I have joined in an organisation as Accountant in 1994 for a salary of Rs. 4000/-. I got promotion and maximum increment every year. After few years I became one of the senior most employees in the organisation and was drawing salary of approximate Rs. 1,00,000/- per month. During my service life, I come to know that Private Companies are also having equal number of corrupt employees like government offices. Since I have the power to make decision or recommend for action, I decided to clean the system. I have stopped corruption in Purchase, Administration Department etc. Some employees lost their job, some lost their increments and some staff were demoted. But the management was in my favour.
But my last appraisal changed every thing. In the appraisal team, a close friend of a corrupt person (who was demoted) was there. He reduced my performance rating to take revenge against his friends demotion. Another member was my senior and was always afraid of losing his seat due to my success in career and studies. The third member was neutral. He told me that your performance in this year was outstanding as you have collected few Crores of bad debts through legal means. But the team decided to rate you as average employee. I felt that this is good time to resign the job and work for my ultimate aim.
The First offer of bribe I got was when I was working as accountant. stationary supplier came with a costly bag and gave it to me. I refused to receive it. He tried for half an hour and returned back red faced. Because I had cancelled his contract. After that I got many bribe offers from suppliers whether it is while purchasing luxury cars for company or any other product. Once a Bank manager and team came with a 51" LCD TV to get some investment through me. I never gave any investment to him.
While Purchasing an apartments costing crores rupees the broker offered me 1% commission. This was a huge amount. I got prepared a cheque in the name of my employer (Purchaser) and handed over it to him.
The other big bribe offer was while purchasing more than 25 acres of land for an organisation, I got a huge bribe offer. I got reduced the bribe amount from the cost to benefit the employer.
While hiring hundreds of hostels for the students of an educational institution, many brokers offered me bribe. I have black listed all those brokers and dealt with the one who did not offer bribe to me.
1. Continued Education
We all know that education is the most important tool for success. I have continued my studies while working. Successfully completed the following degrees.
In addition to that, I achieved knowledge in computer assembling, maintenance and website development through self study. Now I am one of the successful website designers in the world with genuine visitors through google search.
2. Generated Income Source for survival
a. Developed websites and generating online income
I have developed www.aqprice.com where prices computers, mobile phones and many other products are available. This website has lacs of Genuine visitors and I can become a business man at any time and can earn money.
I have developed another website www.aaptaxlaw.com for lawyers, litigants, Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries and common man who want knowledge about law and legal process. This website is also having lacs of visitors. I can start a legal firm at any time to earn money, but my aim is not that.
I have few more websites. These websites are generating income for my survival.
b. Started Taxation and Legal Practice
I started legal and taxation practice. I have many taxation clients including CEOs of MNCs, big corporate, many retired persons. We are maintaining good relation.
After leaving my luxurious job we have faced huge financial struggle. Many of my friends vanished. We have experienced the agonies of a common man in all walks of life. Children understood the value of money and how to lead a controlled life. We took it positively. Now I can well understand the problems of a common man than earlier. But at the same time I have developed friendship with many people who can place me for double of the salary which I was getting earlier. But we never requested for a favour and decided to work for fighting against corruption.
I am working with the most courageous and reputed PIL lawyer, whose hard work paved way to pronounce many landmark Judgments by the Supreme Court for Indian citizens. I am working with a person with clear vision, matured knowledge and will to hear and work for any poor person.
I will definitely become a successful lawyer. Because in all fields of my career I succeeded. So I will succeed in legal profession also.
My interested areas are:
- Fight against corruption
- Fight against child labour
- Work for elderly people
- Fight against Dowry system
- Fight for women rights. I hate the restrictions against women in some communities.
I like to work with "Swaraj Abhiyan". The reasons are:
- Mr. Prashant Bhushan is the most courageous and reputed PIL lawyer, whose hard work paved way to pronounce many landmark Judgments from the Supreme Court for Indian citizens. He is a person with clear vision, matured knowledge and have will to hear and work for any poor person. Since he is there in the team of Swaraja Abhiyan, I have a blank failt and the organisation will definitely succeed to achieve its objects.
- I was a farmer and know the feeling of a farmer. In India farmers have no respect. e.g. we address a clerk or peon as "sir" but nobody address a farmer as "sir". Instead consider them as a second type of citizen. Since farmers are innocent people, politicians to money lenders are exploiting them. They do not have better living condition and are financially weak. I know that Mr. Yogendra Yadav has better understanding of problems of farmers in the Country than most other politicians in India and have a vision.
- There are thousands of people with genuine interest are working with Swaraj Abhiyan.
I have an advise for those who want to fight against corruption and serve the nation.
"Don't believe in people who show extra ordinary respect. They will definitely have some intention".

As the broker said, I am not successful in creating wealth. We are living in rented house for the last 26 years. We lived with may wonderful people. Now moved to the house of an aged couple. While living there on rent, we can take care of them....
