Current-law note: The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (BSA) came into force on 1 July 2024. Older CrPC references on individual sample pages may therefore need to be mapped to the corresponding BNSS provision, subject to the applicable savings/transitional provisions and the date of the proceeding. The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 is the current central consumer-protection statute.
