CrPC Second Schedule Forms 1-56: Legacy Forms After BNSS 2023
This page provides the legacy forms contained in the Second Schedule to the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (CrPC), including summons, warrants, bonds, bail-bonds, proclamations, attachment orders and other prescribed criminal-procedure forms.
Current legal position: The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) came into force on 1 July 2024 and repealed the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. However, section 531 of the BNSS contains savings for specified pending appeals, applications, trials, inquiries and investigations, which continue under the CrPC as provided by that section. Accordingly, the forms below are retained as legacy/reference material and may remain relevant to saved CrPC proceedings. For current proceedings, consult the BNSS and its Second Schedule.

CrPC and BNSS: Which Law Applies?
For criminal procedure generally, the BNSS is the current central procedural law from 1 July 2024. The CrPC is repealed, but the repeal-and-savings provision preserves the CrPC for specified proceedings that were already pending immediately before BNSS commencement. Users should therefore identify when the relevant investigation, inquiry, trial, application or appeal began before choosing a form.
The BNSS has its own Second Schedule of forms under section 522. Those current forms are not the same as this legacy CrPC index and should be checked separately for proceedings governed by the BNSS.
