How to view a West Bengal Police FIR online

Open the official FIR View page Use the secure West Bengal Police CCTNS Citizen Portal rather than the old policewb.gov.in HTTP address.

Select District and Police Station Choose the district and the police station where the FIR was registered.

Enter FIR Date and FIR Number Enter the FIR date and FIR number exactly as recorded.

Enter your Mobile Number The current service uses a valid mobile number for OTP verification.

Complete OTP verification Enter the one-time password received on your mobile and proceed to view the FIR information available online.

If the FIR is not available in the statewide portal, verify the FIR number and police station and check the concerned District or Commissionerate source or contact the police station directly.

Right to FIR information under BNSS 2023

The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 came into force on 1 July 2024 and governs the current procedure for information relating to cognizable offences.

Section 173 BNSS: information relating to a cognizable offence may be given orally or by electronic communication to the officer in charge of a police station, irrespective of the area where the offence was committed. Electronic information is to be signed by the informant within three days.

Section 173(2) provides that a copy of the information as recorded shall be given forthwith, free of cost, to the informant or victim.
