Online FIR view and formal legal use
The West Bengal Police CCTNS Citizen Portal contains a statutory warning stating that legal steps may be taken for false or fabricated information and that, for the time being, the portal should not be referred to in court or for legal purposes.
For litigation, insurance claims, government proceedings or any matter requiring formal proof, obtain the form of FIR copy required by the receiving authority rather than relying solely on a web-page display or printout.
