About the Supreme Court Rules, 2013

The Supreme Court Rules, 2013 regulate practice and procedure before the Supreme Court of India. They operate under Article 145 of the Constitution and cover matters such as Advocates-on-Record, filing and presentation of petitions, appellate and original jurisdiction, review and curative jurisdiction, affidavits, documents, inspection, service, court fees, forms and other procedural requirements.

The Rules were notified in 2014 and replaced the Supreme Court Rules, 1966. Because the Rules have been amended repeatedly, procedural summaries should not be treated as a substitute for the current official text, Registry notices or practice directions.
