The earlier version of this page instructed applicants to create an account on the old ppsaanjh.in portal and followed screenshots of that system. Punjab's current eServices portal now lists Tenant Verification under the Department of Police and states that citizens can apply online or through a Sewa Kendra. Use the current official service channel rather than the archived workflow.

How to Apply for Tenant Verification Online in Punjab
- Open eServices Punjab and locate Tenant Verification under the Department of Police.
- Register or sign in to the citizen account if the portal requires authentication for the service.
- Select the appropriate tenant category and fill in the property-owner/applicant details.
- Enter the tenant's full identity, contact information, present address, native/permanent address and police-station details.
- Add rental-property particulars, rent-deed information, references and employment details wherever required by the form.
- Upload or attach the prescribed photographs and identity/address documents.
- Pay the current official service/facilitation charge shown by the portal or Sewa/Saanjh Kendra and retain the acknowledgement number.
Information and Documents Commonly Required
Punjab Police's published tenant-verification forms collect detailed information about both the property owner and tenant. The exact checklist should be confirmed from the current form at the time of filing.
- Owner/applicant name, address, mobile number, occupation and photo identity details.
- Property address and whether the premises are residential or commercial.
- Tenant's name, aliases if any, gender, date of birth, occupation and contact details.
- Tenant's present and permanent/native address and relevant police-station details.
- Tenant identity proof such as driving licence, PAN, voter card, passport, Aadhaar, ration card, bank passbook or other accepted proof.
- Rent-deed information and copy where applicable.
- Native-place and local references.
- Employment and previous-employment particulars where required.
- Photographs and other supporting documents prescribed in the current application.
Current Legal Framework
The service-delivery framework for notified Punjab Government services is governed by the Punjab Transparency and Accountability in Delivery of Public Service Act, 2018 (Punjab Act No. 16 of 2018). The Act provides for transparency and accountability in public-service delivery within stipulated time limits and includes designated officers and appellate authorities for notified services.
The Punjab Transparency and Accountability in Delivery of Public Service Rules, 2021 were notified under section 20 of the 2018 Act. The Rules require the concerned public authority to notify paper/digital application forms and document checklists and provide forms through its office, Sewa Kendras and the relevant website or portal.
Is Tenant Verification Mandatory Everywhere in Punjab?
Punjab Police provides tenant verification as an official service, but whether a landlord is under a separate compulsory verification requirement can depend on local orders or directions issued by the competent District Magistrate, Commissionerate or police authority. Such orders can vary by district and period. Accordingly, this page does not treat tenant verification as a single permanent State-wide criminal-law mandate. Landlords should check current local orders in their district in addition to using the Saanjh service.
