Because tax rates, thresholds and filing rules change frequently, current liabilities should be verified from the relevant tax authority or an authoritative international database.

Current official and authoritative tax resources

OECD Corporate Income Tax Rates Database Current comparative corporate, withholding and effective tax-rate data for jurisdictions participating in the Inclusive Framework.

Examples of current tax information for 2026

International comparisons must distinguish between marginal personal tax rates, corporate statutory rates, consumption taxes and social contributions. They should also account for residence, filing status, deductions, exemptions, sub-national taxes and treaty relief.

  • India: for Assessment Year 2026-27, the new-regime individual slabs begin at nil up to ₹4,00,000, followed by 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% bands. Eligible taxpayers may also be affected by rebate, surcharge, cess and special-rate income rules.
  • United States: federal individual income tax continues to use seven marginal rates from 10% to 37% for tax year 2026, with thresholds varying by filing status.
  • United Kingdom: for tax year 2026-27, the standard Personal Allowance is £12,570; rates and bands differ for Scotland and can also vary by income type.
