What are the steps to apply for Tatkal Passport online?
Step 1. Visit the Passport Seva Online Portal
Step 2. Register through the Passport Seva Online Portal. Hit on Register now button on the home page or if you are already registered you can use your user name and password.
Step 3. Logon to Passport Seva Online Portal with the Registered Login ID
Step 4. Hit on "Apply for Fresh Passport / Reissue of Passport" Link. For renewal of passport you must chose the reissue link only.
Step 5. Select Tatkal in application type or scheme
Step 6. Fill in the required details in the form accurately and submit
Step 7. Click the "Pay and Schedule Appointment" link on the "view saved /submitted applications" screen to schedule an appointment
Online Payment
Online Payment has been paid mandatory for booking appointment at all passport seva kendras / Passport offices. Online payment can me made by using any one of the of the following methods:
- Credit / Debit Card (Master Card / Visa)
- Internet Banking of SBI and associated Banks
- State Bank of India Bank Challan
Step 8. Click "the Print application receipt" to print application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN) / Appointment Number
Step 9. On the day of appointment visit the Passport office where appointment has been booked along with original documents. In case of renewal or reissue of passport original expired passport also should be carried for verification.
