CAN DIABETES BE CONTROLLED THROUGH YOGA? IS IT NECESSARY TO DO BRISK WALKING AND OTHER EXERCISES? ARE WE GIVING EXTRA ORDINARY IMPORTANCE TO YOGA THAN IT RESERVE? ARE THE SO CALLED "SANTS" PROMOTING YOGA ARE REAL BUSINESS MEN.

Yoga for Diabetes

I am diagnosed with diabetes in 2010. It was shocking to me as I am  Trained in Yoga, Karate, Kalaripayattu etc. Due to the High pressure of my management level job in Private Sector, I was not able to spend time for regular exercise or yoga. When I Came to know that I become a diabetes patient, I have restarted Yoga and Physical exercises.

 

 

1. Effect of Yoga to control Diabetes.

Now a days we are giving great importance to Yoga in India. So I decided to try Yoga First to control my diabetes. I have done at least 45 minutes yoga every day for two years. My diabetes was under control with Yoga and Gemer 2. But some other physical problems were arised.

Freezing of Shoulders and Back Pain

After doing yoga for two years, I realised that all my body parts are not getting regular exercise. My hands were freezed and there was back pain and leg pain. To recover from it, I approached a Physiotherapist and undergone treatment for 21 days. After physiotherapy my hands defreezed and pain reduced. Now I changed my exercise method.

 

2. Brisk Walk with Yoga to control Diabetes.

Now I realised that Yoga alone cannot control my diabetes and body functions. I started brisk walk for 30 minutes and few yoga pauses after that. This method was more effective and my diabetes was under control with light medicines. But again I felt that all my body parts are not getting sufficient exercise. So I have added some more exercises to my daily routine.

 

3. The Best way to control diabetes - Brisk Walk, Running, Yoga and Physical Exercises

The latest and most successful method I adopted to control Diabetes and related issues is :

20 Minutes Brisk Walk

15 Minutes Running

10 Minutes Exercises for legs, hands and head.

 

The most effective way to control my diabetes and lead a healthy life.

The above described exercises proved to be the most effective method to control my diabetes and lead a healthy life. Now I do not have pain on my legs, hands or any body part. I am more active and energetic. 15 daily running increased my stamina. At the beginning you may not be able to run for 15 minutes. But gradually stamina will increase.

 

My advice for Yoga Lovers

It is a fact that Yoga is being advertised and promoted as the single solution to solve all physical and mental problems. These advertisement are being given by people with vested interest. The so called Sants who are giving extraordinary importance are actually business men.

I got lessons of Yoga in my childhood and practiced it for long time. In my opinion Yoga is good, but other exercises are not bad. Giving extraordinary importance to yoga may not help you to control your diabetes and keep your body parts in tact. Combination of Yoga, brisk walking, running, small exercises etc will help you to tune your body and you can switch to light medicines.

 

And Finally some food items with sugar content are also in my food menu. But my exercises method is keeping my diabetes under control.
