Income-Tax Deduction for Donation to Arunachal Pradesh CM Relief Fund
Section 133(1)(a)(xv) of the Income-tax Act, 2025 includes a Chief Minister's Relief Fund or Lieutenant Governor's Relief Fund where the fund satisfies the statutory conditions: it must be the only fund of its kind established in the State or Union territory, be under the overall control of the Chief Secretary or Department of Finance, and be administered in the manner specified by the State Government or Lieutenant Governor.
Where these conditions are met, Section 133(1)(a) provides deduction of the whole qualifying donation. This corresponds broadly to the 100% deduction treatment previously available under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
Section 133 also provides that the deduction is available only for a donation made as a sum of money. If the donation exceeds ₹2,000, deduction is available only where payment is made by a mode other than cash.

How to Claim the Donation in the Income-Tax Return
Keep the official donation receipt or certificate and use the donor, donee and payment information stated on that document. For a tax year governed by the Income-tax Act, 2025, the legal provision is Section 133. For an earlier assessment year still governed by the Income-tax Act, 1961, the corresponding deduction is dealt with under Section 80G.
Where the return form asks for the donee's PAN, address, donation amount, mode of payment or eligible amount, enter the particulars exactly as supported by the official donation receipt and the return-form instructions applicable to that tax year.
