Assam Chief Minister Relief Fund: PAN, Bank Details, Donation and Tax Deduction
Updated information for donations to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF), including PAN, SBI account details, Chief Minister's Office contact information and the income-tax deduction provision applicable from 1 April 2026.
Income-Tax Deduction for Assam CM Relief Fund Donation
Section 133(1)(a)(xv) of the Income-tax Act, 2025 includes a Chief Minister's Relief Fund or Lieutenant Governor's Relief Fund where the statutory conditions are satisfied. The fund must be the only fund of its kind established in the State or Union territory, be under the overall control of the Chief Secretary or Department of Finance, and be administered in the manner specified by the State Government or Lieutenant Governor.
For a qualifying fund covered by Section 133(1)(a), the deduction is for the whole eligible donation. This is the present-law counterpart of the treatment formerly provided under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
A donation exceeding ₹2,000 does not qualify for deduction if it is paid in cash. For larger donations, use a banking or other permitted non-cash payment mode and retain the official donation receipt.
