Important Classification Notes

Chapter 72: the principal iron and steel headings shown above remain in the 18% Schedule.

Chapter 73: most iron and steel articles remain at 18%, but specific goods including mathematical/geometry/colour boxes, milk cans, animal shoe nails, sewing needles, specified stoves, solar cookers, household iron or steel utensils and qualifying iron handicraft artware are covered by 5% entries.

Chapter 74: most copper goods remain at 18%. Table, kitchen or other household articles of copper and utensils are 5%; specified brass kerosene pressure stoves and qualifying handicraft artware under 7419 80 are also subject to the concessional entry.

HSN 7308: the Schedule II description continues to exclude transmission towers. The precise applicable entry for a transmission-tower supply should therefore be verified separately with reference to the nature and use of the goods and any applicable specific notification.
