What if the certificate is delayed or rejected?

Under the Maharashtra Right to Public Services framework, an eligible applicant may use the prescribed appeal process if a notified service is not provided within the stipulated period or is rejected without proper grounds.

For the Income Certificate service, the current notified structure identifies the Tahsildar as First Appellate Officer and the Sub-Divisional Officer as Second Appellate Officer. The State's RTS framework also provides for a further appeal to the Maharashtra State Commission for Right to Public Service in accordance with the Act and Rules.
